Living on the borders of Michigan's woodlands, self-published watercolorist J. Everest Fonner finds abundant inspiration for her award winning watercolors.  Known for deep values and fine detail in her earlier work, Jill has been an artist for more than 25 years choosing to paint from direct experience the essence of the natural world.

Her work has been accepted in numerous juried fine art competitions including many Michigan Water Color Society (MWCS), and National Watercolor Society (NWS) shows.  U.S. Art magazine included Jill in the August 2000 issue featuring 25 artists.  Her work has been seen in ARTtrends, U.S. Art, and InformArt magazines, and Women in the Arts  magazine from The National Museum of Women in the Arts.  Whisper, was selected as "Editor's Choice" in  U.S. Art's,  March 2000 issue.  In 2003, two articles have appeared in InformArt about Jill and her approach to creating art.  See the Fall 2003 issue on Woodland Art by Tyler W. Chartier.

In the past, Fonner has worked with etching, monotype, watercolor monotype and other printing mediums.  This curiosity has led Jill to become involved in the new digital printing industry; most recently she has been involved in gicl’ee printing for the fine art print trade.  Currently many of her paintings are available as archival gicl’ee prints.  Using museum quality papers and archival inks, Jill publishes most of her own images using a professional wide-format printer.  More images of Jill’s work can be viewed at:  www.fonner.com
